Weddings with Personality
December 2, 2015 4:08 pmIt is the season to be wrapped up warm and snuggled up in another’s arms. As the nights grow long and we get cosy under blankets, dine out in pubs with an open fire and enjoy crisp walks in the countryside, many couples will make the decision to tie the knot.
When you love spending time together and feel relaxed, happy and loved in another person’s company, the natural next step is to formalise your union. When you both agree to get married and share the wonderful news with friends and family, it is the start of an exciting journey.
In the past, the bride’s parents paid for the wedding and therefore had considerable say in how they day would pan out. A wedding was traditional in its format and you might be a guest at a number of ceremonies which were more or less identical. A white wedding in church is something that many parents dream of for their children and whilst this remains a popular way to get married, variety and diversity are changing the way things are done.
These days the couple usually pay for some or all of the wedding costs and as a result, they have much greater say in the theme, style and format of the day, including which guests to invite. Modern weddings are far more likely to reflect the personality of the couple. If you want to arrive at the venue on motorbikes rather than a classic car, wear purple instead of white or enjoy a vintage tea party in place of a buffet, there’s little stopping you!
Your Priorities
Weddings with personality also help you to prioritise what is important. It can stop you being sucked into the pressure of having a wealth of added extras which are available, but not necessarily essential for a wonderful gathering of friends and family. Your budget might stretch to unique wedding car hire or a live band if you aren’t paying out for elaborate bouquets or a sit down meal.
Wedding Colours
According to wedding supplies specialists, Confetti, there are a number of popular trends that will play a growing part in 2016 weddings. For a start more couples will be favouring bold, bright colour schemes in place of subtle shades. The natural appeal of greenery is also becoming a desired feature of bride’s bouquets and floral displays, so more leaves and fewer blooms.
Wedding Venues
A venue can have a huge influence in creating the right atmosphere. As an increasingly diverse range of places are being licensed to host weddings, you have a great choice of locations both indoors and out, in which to say your vows. If you are looking for the ideal place for your wedding ceremony, you can select anything from a cosy intimate space to a vast and dramatic environment.
Wedding Cars
Horse drawn carriages and classic cars have a timeless appeal, but when it comes to wedding car hire, the wedding party could be transported in anything from a double decker bus, a tuk tuk or a luxury 4×4 vehicle. Make sure that you can enjoy a relaxed and comfortable ride, no matter what mode of transport you select.
Wedding Photography
With the growing availability of drones, aerial photography is another growing trend. More photographers are offering a bird’s eye view of your wedding as part of their package. If you are keen to include pictures from above in your wedding album, ask your photographer for past examples of their aerial work. This is a relatively new advance and so experience in getting a good shot will be limited for any photographer. Past work will be an indicator that they are up to the job.
By doing things your way, you are more likely to feel relaxed and happy on your wedding day. Enjoying time with your friends and relatives and openly sharing your commitment to each other is what it’s all about. Trends come and go, but if a wedding day is a true reflection of your personalities it is less likely that they you look back at the photos wondering what on earth you were thinking.
From a traditional white wedding, through to a unique ceremony, a wedding is all about the couple. Sticking to what you want is the best way to create happy memories.
