Yellow snow warnings have been issued as a “mini Beast from the East” is expected to hit the UK this weekend 17th March 2018
The Met Office said parts of Scotland and England could see snow on Friday with the rest of the country hit at the weekend with up to 20cm (8in) falling.
Sunday will see “significant snowfall” with a maximum temperature of 1C.
Meteorologists said although it was the same Siberian weather as the “Beast from the East”, which caused widespread disruption, it would not last as long.
The first warning for snow and ice came into force in Scotland at 03:00 GMT on Friday.
The Met Office has issued yellow warnings – meaning travel delays and disruption are possible – for parts of England and Scotland between Friday and Sunday.
On Friday north-eastern Scotland, central and eastern parts of England should expect snow.
On Saturday a larger part of England and Scotland is expected to see about 1-3cm of snow on low-lying ground, and up to 10cm on high ground.
Areas expected to be affected on Saturday in England includes the North East, North West, West Midlands, East Midlands, Yorkshire and Humber, the East of England, London and the South East.
Nearly the whole of England and parts of Wales will also be under a yellow snow warning on Sunday.

Towards the end of autumn, book a pre-winter check at your local Land Rover Retailer.
CHECK YOUR TYRES
Make sure your winter tyres are properly inflated, and remember that over-inflation can reduce grip.
Before you set out, use a scraper or de-icer to clear windows, mirrors, headlights and brake lights.
If the wheels start to spin or slide, ease off the accelerator until you feel the tyres regain grip.
