Between August 26th and 28th Leeds will play host to one of the UK’s most renowned rock music festivals, alongside the Berkshire town of Reading. The Leeds Festival, which was first established in 1955 as the Beaulieu Jazz Festival, adorns Bramham Park with revellers of all ages from across the United Kingdom. Each of whom have come out for a weekend of rock music from widely recognised bands, including Fall Out Boy, Foals, Imagine Dragons and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Those who are fans of harder rock can also watch acts such as Hacktivist, Creeper and Heck in The Pit, Leeds Festivals’ flagship hard rock stage. Furthermore, the BBC Introducing Stage will be showcasing some little known acts who will undoubtedly become widely recognised in years to come. Previous acts to appear on its stage include Oasis and Arcade Fire.

The weekend is not about music alone, however, as visitors will also be able to indulge in a wide variety of foods, drinks and entertainment. One example of this is the Film Oxford Cinema Tent, which screens a selection of international animations, dramas and music videos throughout the action packed weekend for the whole family. Those on show this year include Skyfall, Iron Man 3 and many more.

When combined, these array of stages and selection of activities are certain to keep both the older and younger generations entertained throughout the weekend, whether the sun is out or not. Those looking for the true festival experience can also go a step further and camp in the park itself. This may be in their own tent or one of the luxury Podpads provided at an additional cost by the festivals organisers.

By camping you have the option to enjoy the entire weekends selection of acts and venture out of the park to enjoy the array of other activities the city of Leeds has to offer you. This may include a visit to the Royal Armouries Museum, Leeds Art Gallery or the Grand Theatre.

Parking is also available surrounding the festival. Although, with rain a common sight at the festival we recommend that you travel in a vehicle able to dig its way out of a sticky situation. After all, nothing can ruin a great weekend away more than spending the final hours inching your car out of the turf.
